Privacy Policy
Effective date: February 2026
Shelley is a privacy-first work and travel manager with a local cache in your browser and optional Google Sheet sync for cross-device access. This page explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.
What data Shelley uses
- Local schedule data you import via CSV or OCR screenshots (stored in your browser).
- Google Sheets schedule data (if you connect Google and provide a Sheet ID).
- Google Calendar event data (only when you explicitly sync events).
- Gmail metadata/content (only if you use the Emails feature; used to create summaries and notes).
- Travel distance/time lookups using Google Distance Matrix to estimate travel time and IBT.
Where your data is stored
Shelley does not use a database. Most app data (settings, schedule, cached distances, notes, and summaries) is stored in your browser via localStorage. If you enable Sheet sync, a per-user Google Sheet is used as the cross-device persistence source of truth. Google access tokens are handled by NextAuth.
How your data is used
- To display your schedule in daily/weekly/monthly calendar views.
- To calculate weekly hours, travel time, and IBT estimates.
- To help summarize and organize manager communications (optional feature).
Sharing
Shelley does not sell your data. If you enable optional AI summarization, only the minimum necessary email content is sent to OpenAI to generate a summary.
Data retention
Data is retained in your browser until you clear it. You control what you upload, what you sync, and what you delete.
How to delete your data
See Data Deletion Instructions for step-by-step guidance.
